Crate & Barrel, Soho

January 08, 2019

On October 7th we pulled up to the loading dock on Mercer Street at 5:30AM.  NYC is dark and quiet at this time on a Sunday morning, except for the last minute staggering partiers making their way home.  Have you ever tried to find a decent cup of coffee at 5:30AM on a Sunday in Soho?  Impossible.  But here we were, dazed and confused after having two weddings the day before, ready to begin our load in at the Crate and Barrel in Soho.

The store opens at 11AM on Sunday, which gave our team of 8 just 4 ½ hours to load in, complete two rather large installs on two separate floors of the store and load out before the doors would be unlocked for customers.   The in house design team was going to rig the pieces we needed so we could begin our installations by 6:30AM.  At 8AM, the rigging was still wasn’t in place, so two badass women from our team took it upon themselves and secured the rigging so we could get started.  Everything we needed to get started was in place by 8:30AM.  And in just 2 hours and 15 minutes, fueled up on 7-11 coffee water, our team created this beauty over the front entry table of the store.

Meanwhile on the 2nd floor, two members of our team worked in conjunction with the in house brand experience manager, Celeste, (who rocks) and togther they styled this dreamy, ethereal display in the bedding section of the store..

Moral of this story?  Give 8 women fueled up on shitty coffee 2 hours and 15 minutes and they can conquer the floral world.
